Projects

If there is one thing that is true about a farm, it is that there are always projects for everyone. With a little supervision from Papa, the cousins undertook this project – a playhouse made of pallets.

Merry Christmas to All!

image

Merry Christmas to all of the families and friends of Grammy’s Pumpkin Patch! We wish you a blessed time of joy as you celebrate this white Christmas.

We enjoyed reconnecting with friends and meeting new ones at the patch this year. If you happen to be missing a jacket or two, check with Grammy and Papa at the farm. We have a few in the Lost and Found.

And the Winner Is….

The winner of the 3rd Annual Johnstown Giant contest is Daryl Johnson, mayor of Johnstown. He and his wife, Kola, grew the 227 lbs. giant. They were the reigning 2012 champions as well. Congratulations, neighbors!

The Johnstown Giant weigh-in is always one of my favorite days of the season. I love the storytelling, music, dancing, and food!

Agriculture Education and Wiggles and Giggles

We had a fun time with the young ones from Wiggles and Giggles this morning as they explored the farm and the pumpkin patch.

This afternoon we headed to Elyria Christian School to visit with their 2nd graders. They are participating in the In the Class and On the Farm (ICOF) agriculture education program. This afternoon we discussed the definition of agriculture, and we discovered the many ways that we are each affected by agriculture every day. Just ask them, they’ll let you know!
