Angie has been busy! Check out these awesome Birdhouse gourds she painted. I think that they are super cute! She said she learned a lot about paint type, finish, etc. while working on these.

All Aboard!
We had a fun time yesterday as part of the Kansas Kid’s Museum’s annual “Parking Lot Event” in Hutchinson, Kansas. First of all, the weather was great-mostly cloudy and only up to 92 degrees or so! That felt so much better than the 100+ degrees that usually accompanies this event. It was a fun day of kids activities. There were booths with activities for children from area community groups and businesses-crafts, games, a car show, and of course, Grammy’s Barrel Train!

Everyone loves a train ride!
Justin and Papa gave rides to about 250 kids and parents.
Tubs of different grains were fun to dig in too.

Group Information
Grammy’s offers a variety of packages for groups. Choose the activities that are right for your group — barrel train ride, story time, music and movement time, nature walk, autumn craft, pumpkin play activities, mini milo maze, etc. Grammy and her staff are certified educators with expertise in early and elementary education. They are experienced in leading classes in lessons in math, literature, writing, or science. Each experience will be tailored to your group. NEW THIS YEAR – The Destruction Zone!!! Come and experience Thor’s Hammer and The Pumpkin-Pult. These two attractions are smashing and hurling all sorts of gourds to the delight of the visitors. At the Build-N-Blast, build your own creation, and then try your hand at blasting it to the ground with our slingshots, or have a blasting contest with a friend! Prices vary depending on the activity.
The Pumpkin Play offers a variety of free games for the family. Stay and play until the sun goes down!
The pumpkin train is a favorite for all ages at Grammy’s. This barrel train will take its passengers on a tour of Grammy’s. The ride makes its way through tunnels and fields, eventually reaching the pumpkin patch. Here each rider gets to cut his or her own We-Be-Little pumpkin. Then hold on because the train will be taking its passengers back to the Depot.
Throughout the day, Grammy will be inviting children to a free story time. They will be led in songs, poems, and stories about autumn time.
Crafts will also be offered throughout the day. Each week will feature a different craft, so come back often! The cost per craft will vary.
